Tom is a lifelong resident of Southwest Missouri, Growing up on a farm in the Republic area. Entering the Real Estate business and later on the Auction business in Springfield, Missouri.

He is a graduate of The Missouri Auction School, and a 1983 graduate of The Certified Auctioneers Institute, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. He has served as President of The Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association as well as having served on The Board of Directors of that Organization. In 2001 He was placed in the Missouri Auctioneers Hall of Fame.
